blue cheese dressing
If eating healthy real food has been a battle, a steep climb, really a struggle, I'm going to now tell you to stop buying all of those bottled condiments and make your own! It is just so easy and worth it. You can build the recipe just for you, adding spices and herbs that you love, and adjusting the heat if you like spicy too. The best thing is, you avoid the unwanted sugar and undesirable oils, that just aren't good for you. You also handpick all of the ingredients, so they can be the best choice possible.
For this recipe, I added extra lemon for a brighter flavor and fresh parsley, but don't be afraid to add some hot sauce for some zing or other fresh herbs that appeal to you. I made Buffalo chicken fingers and homemade french fries and served this dip up on the side. They devoured everything and I knew that everything I was serving them was clean and healthy.
This stores in the fridge for a few weeks. I use a glass storage container, that helps to preserve the freshness. One of my favorite ways to use this dip up is, served with veggies in the kids lunches or as an afterschool snack with a big tray of your favorite ingredients for dipping.
What you will need
(1) 16 oz. container of organic sour cream
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
Handful of fresh chopped parsley ( if using dried, add 1 tsp.)
Juice of 1/2 lemon or 2 Tbs.
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 Cup Blue cheese crumbles
In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients thoroughly. Refrigerate when finished, in a glass storage container. The more time it has to sit, the better it tastes!
